Commissions

You imagine it, we make it.

I specialize in making wargaming/ttrpg related models for 3D printing and 3D assets for video games or other 3D mediums. I have several years experience modeling many different types of assets. If you have an idea, I can make it. Custom figures, bases, terrain, game tokens, or other model for tabletop, or maybe some custom weapons, levels, props, dungeons, etc. for a video game you’re working on. Chances are I’ve done something similar in the past. Whatever the project, let’s work together and make it happen. Let’s make something cool together.

Services I provide include:

  • Video calls, voice calls, email (whatever you’re comfortable with) to discuss the project.

    • Maybe you need something very specific, maybe you have just an idea and need me to brainstorm and fill in some parts, both are fine.

  • 3D modeling

    • The main service I offer. I will provide a full 3D model, in whichever format you request (.obj, .stl, .fbx, etc.)

    • Models intended for 3D printing will be delivered print-ready (no holes, manifold, etc.)

    • Models intended for game assets will be delivered optimized for a game engine (remeshed, low poly count, rigged for animation if requested)

  • Multiple poses / model variants

    • Depending on the project, I can provide multiple poses or model variants as needed.

  • Pre-supported models & test printing (3D Printing)

    • I will provide pre-supported models ready to be printed upon request.

    • I do NOT own an FDM printer, so I’m unable to provide test printing services for any exceptionally large models, or models designed to be printed on an FDM printer.

  • 3D printing

    • I will 3D print and ship models upon request.

    • Prints will be printed on a MSLA (Resin) printer. Prints will be done on a 4k printer with a 50um (0.05mm) layer height.

    • Larger models may need to be printed in separate parts (wings, torso, arms, etc.) depending on the model. If this is the case, the model will be shipped unassembled.

    • Some smaller models may need to be printed in separate parts in order to properly support them for printing. This will depend on the model.

    • I do not own an FDM printer, so will be unable to print exceptionally large models.

    • Since I only own SLA printers, I will be unable to print some models due to size or other factors. If this is the case, I will let you know up front. If I’m unsure about whether or not I’ll be able to print a model on my equipment upfront (very rare this is the case) I’ll let you know as well.

  • Painting

    • While I am not a commission painter, I can provide a painted version of a model you have commissioned me to model. I am not an award winning painter (yet!), but I am a very competent one. At the time of writing this I have not posted any of my painted works in the gallery but I do have plans to in the near future. If you do wish to commission a painted model, I will provide a painted figure as well as an unpainted one to you in addition to the 3D file if requested.

  • Texturing (Game Assets)

    • If you are commissioning a model to be imported into a game engine, I will texture the models, and provide the textures upon request.

  • Simple Animations (Game Assets)

    • I can do simple object animations if needed: doors opening/closing, machine parts moving, dungeon elements moving, or any similar animations. Full character animations I will not do. Partly because it’s something I am still studying and practicing and don’t do very well yet, and partly because character animations are very detailed and time consuming. I can, however provide a rigged model ready to be animated by yourself, an animator, or someone else.

  • Revisions

    • I usually provide 1-2 revisions before delivery, depending on the scope of the project. These can be done via video conference, email, or whichever form of communication you are comfortable with.

Other Notes:

  • While the above are a summary of the main services I provide, they are by no means an exhaustive list. If you have something in mind that is not listed above, please feel free to reach out, I’m happy to work with you. In addition to modeling/sculpting, I’m also a skilled painter, developer (mostly C, C#, and Unity Engine), designer, writer, among other things. A jack of all trades really, I can do many things, but specialize in only a few.

  • I maintain the right to turn down any project.

    • While I do not like to turn down any project, sometimes I will if a project is beyond my skill-level, too large in scope for one person, or some other reason. I do not charge for the initial communications about a project, and I will be completely open about my reasoning for not accepting a commission If I turn it down. I want to see everyone’s ideas come to fruition, but I also realize that I am not always the right person to make it happen.

Pricing & Payment:

  • Pricing

    • Pricing will vary from project to project depending on the scope and complexity. I will provide a quote for the work either during the initial communication discussing the project, or via email shorty after If I need more time to put together an accurate quote.

    • Many factors will affect the price quoted including:

      • Scope, scale

      • Level of detail in the model

      • Number of models

      • Multiple poses, variants for a model, or additional props to accompany a model

      • Pre-supporting a model to be 3D printed / test printing

      • Whether or not a physical model will be printed and shipped (shipping prices will also vary)

      • Number of models to be printed and shipped

      • Textures and animations

      • Whether or not you want full rights to the work. Basically: if you’re ok with me selling the file or printed model after I have completed the work and delivered it to you or not. If I can sell copies of the model on sites like MyMiniFactory and similar, I will generally charge much less as I can continue to make future income from the project. If you wish to keep full rights to the files and for me not to distribute them after I deliver them to you, this will increase the price of the work.

    • In general a simple model, such as custom game tokens, a custom base, or similar I will start around $25 (USD). More complex models, for example: a figure/character, are more difficult to ballpark, but for something very simple like an orc wearing only a loincloth and carrying an axe might start around $60 (USD). Keep in mind these are very loose estimates, every project will be different.

    • The final price will be agreed upon before work begins. I will not add additional fees/etc. after a price has been negotiated and agreed upon unless you request something additional before delivery.

  • Payment

    • Payment will be collected before any files or printed models are delivered.

    • Payment can be sent via PayPal, GPay, or Etsy. (For Etsy payments, a custom listing for the work will be made, and payment info will be collected at checkout.)

  • Delivery

    • Digital items will be delivered via email or Google Drive link after payment in confirmed.

    • For physical shipments, I will collect shipping information via email, or if the payment is collected via Etsy it will be collected there. Etsy is the easiest for me as it will handle payment and shipping all in one go (and give me a discount on shipping labels which is nice.) All shipments will be USPS First-Class unless something else is requested, and tracking information will be provided once the item ships.

  • Refunds/Returns

    • I do not / will not issue refunds for work completed.

    • I will however provide replacements for any physical prints damaged or lost during shipment.

  • Other

    • I am fairly flexible, and willing to work with you about just about anything. If any of the payment or shipping options above do not work for you, let me know and we can figure out an alternative.
